Insider's Tip Try the local honey yogurt, made entirely on the island, with your breakfast and then a "by appointment only" barrel tasting at the Islander Estate after lunch. The grenache there is one of my favorites. Insider's Tip Experience a morning at the spa the day that you arrive. The spa beforehand really relaxes you and you can watch the fish through the glass floor under your massage table. The Mountain view overwater bungalow is 1080 sq. ft., which is a great value for your money and our favorite view of Mount Otemanu. Be prepared to relax and recharge. The only nightlife is that which you make yourself. |

Insider's Tip Stay in the King panoramic overwater bungalows for uninterrupted views of Tahiti. Feed the eel that hangs out under the floating bar. The claw-foot bath tubs are nice touch in the rooms. This is a very down-to-earth resort, and a similar feel to that of the Hawaiian island Kauai. The Spa is worth a visit and great diving is plentiful nearby. Rent a scooter and venture out for island pizza, you won't be dissapointed in the stories the owners tell you, and the food is great.
