Want a wildlife experience in Australia?

Hi everyone.  One thing that is a big bucket list item for many travelers is to hold a koala in Australia.  Fortunately, there are lots of place where travelers can have this unique experience.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Australia

Here are some of the ones that we like to suggest:

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Brisbane.    Not only can you cuddle a koala at this sanctuary, you can also hand feed a kangaroo and see Tasmanian Devils. http://www.koala.net/

Taronga Zoo, Sydney.  This is a nice stop while you are in Sydney.  Here you can also pet a koala, no cuddling.  But if you have kids, you do the Roar and Snore experience, where you spend the night at the zoo. http://taronga.org.au/

Featherdale Wildlife Park, Sydney.  This park offers encounters with wombats, koalas and kangaroos.  While you can’t hold them, you get pet and get close to the animals.  http://www.featherdale.com.au/
