Active Volcanoes

Have you ever stood on an active volcano?  Now’s your chance!  Check out  New Zealand’s only active marine volcano- White Island, aka Whakaari, for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!  Tours include helicopter landings.

Zorbing

Sea Kayaking the Coromandel Peninsula

If the seafaring life is what you’re all about, then you’re bound to fall in love with Cathedral Cove as you sea kayak along the Coromandel Peninsula! Discover the thrill of sea kayaking as you paddle through sea caves, interact with the local marine life, all with the wind on your back.

Mountain Biking

If “BRAAP” means anything to you, you’re in the right place!  As an avid mountain biker, you’ve probably heard raving reviews of New Zealand’s South Island trails, but let’s not play down the North Island!  There are some stellar gems to discover, including these three:

  • Woodhill Bike Park – Auckland: Woodhill offers over 135 km of trail to explore for all skill levels.  If you love jumps, you’ll find a plethora of options from small to huge to off trail!  If you prefer a mellow ride and both wheels on the ground, don’t be shy there are loads of cross-country trails to explore!
  • Pan Pac Eskdale Mountain Bike Park – Napier: The Eskdale Mountain Bike Park offers a little bit for everyone.  From a few downhill and freeride trails to plenty of sweet cross-country single track to explore.  Fun fact, Eskdale is home to three pro downhill riders, including the 2009 World Junior Downhill Champ, Brook Macdonald!
  • Makara Peak MTB Park – Wellington: It’s no secret that Wellington is the coolest little capital in the world and no wonder.  Makara Peak MTB Park just happens to be an amazing network of singletrack trails right in the heart of the city!  Soak up the epic views of the city, ocean, and surrounding hills on these awesome trails.  All skill levels welcome.

Abseiling in Waitomo

Abseiling, also called rappelling, is the controlled descent of a vertical drop, such as a rock face, using a rope. Now picture dropping down into the amazing caves below Waitomo!  Check out one of our favourite Waitomo adventures here.

Bungy Jump the Auckland Harbour Bridge

If you’re afraid of heights, you’ve somehow made it this far into the blog post, so don’t turn away now, face that fear or you’ll miss out on bungy jumping!  This should be on any adrenaline junkie’s bucket list- especially if you’re visiting Auckland because the perfect bungy spot happens to be the Auckland Harbour Bridge!
