We created this Cook Islands Luxury Villa Escape Package for a couple from San Francisco who wanted a romantic getaway on the beach. They wanted to stay in a private villa in a beach destination where they could experience the local culture. When we told them about the Cook Islands, they decided it was the perfect place for their trip! Cook Islands is home to stunning beaches and lagoons, friendly locals, and luxury resorts. We sent the couple to the islands of Rarotonga and Aitutaki, and they had a fabulous private villa with beach access on each island.
They started their Cook Islands Luxury Villa Escape Package at Rumours Luxury Villas & Spa on the main island of Rarotonga. They had a gorgeous villa with a private garden and pool area—a true oasis of seclusion and tranquility. They had a private deck right on the beach, their own kayaks to use whenever they liked, and a complimentary scooter hire so they could explore the hidden gems of Rarotonga at their own pace. With easy access to local island bars and restaurants, they were able to enjoy some local culture while still enjoying all the luxuries of a beach resort.
Next for their Cook Islands Luxury Villa Escape Package, they flew to the neighboring island of Aitutaki and spent 3 nights at the beautiful Aitutaki Escape resort. They had another spacious private villa right on the beach, complete with private pool. They had easy access to the breathtaking Aitutaki Lagoon, the perfect playground for snorkeling, kayaking, water skiing, stand up paddleboarding, and more. For their last night on the island, we arranged a romantic private dinner in their villa.
At last, it was time to say goodbye to the beautiful Cook Islands. After their week in paradise, they flew back to Rarotonga to catch their return flight home.
Suggested Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to the Cook Islands! Arrive on the main island of Rarotonga, where you will receive a meet and greet with leis at the airport and be whisked away to your beach resort with a VIP transfer. Your home for the next 3 nights is Rumours Luxury Villas & Spa, a fabulous 5-star property with private villas set right on the beach.
Your spacious beachside villa has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a private swimming pool with a waterfall surrounded by tropical plants. Enjoy free daily breakfast at the resort. For dinner, many restaurants are an easy stroll down the beach or will provide transfers from the resort. We can arrange reservations for you if you wish.

Day 2 – 3
Spend the next 2 days at your leisure in paradise. Swim in the warm, turquoise waters of the Muri Lagoon; lounge in a hammock on the beach, soaking up the fresh ocean breeze with a delicious cocktail in hand; or enjoy some adventures on land or at sea. Your own personal kayaks will be waiting for you on your lagoon-facing deck to use whenever you please, and you’ll enjoy a complimentary scooter hire to explore the island. Enjoy a visit to Te Vara Nui cultural village, where you can tour the village, learn about Cook Islands history, and see traditional crafts in the making. 2 romantic and relaxing massages are included in your stay.
Down Under Endeavours can book even more fun adventures for you at an additional cost, like a quad bike excursion, interactive cooking classes, a delicious dinner with local Cook Islands families, scuba diving or snorkeling, and much more. Rumours will provide free transportation to any of these activities.

Day 4
Today, your island adventure continues as you board a short flight to the neighboring island of Aitutaki. The Aitutaki Lagoon is famous for its unbelievable beauty, and you’ll catch your first glimpse of it from the air. Enjoy a private transfer from the airport to Aitutaki Escape, where you’ll spend your next 3 nights. This evening, you can watch the sunset over Aitutaki Lagoon from the comfort of your private deck, or enjoy a special private dinner (additional cost) in your villa or even in the lagoon with your feet in the water.

Day 5 – 6
Spend the next 2 days soaking up the natural beauty and friendly island atmosphere of Aitutaki. The lagoon is the perfect playground for snorkeling, kayaking, water skiing, stand up paddleboarding, and more. Lounge on the pristine white sand beach and enjoy the postcard-worthy view with a cocktail (or a few!). Cool off with a dip in your private pool. Whatever you desire, Aitutaki Escape will provide a magical setting for your romantic getaway.

Day 7
It’s time to say goodbye to the Cook Islands and head back to the real world today. Fly back to Rarotonga, taking in a final aerial view of Aitutaki, and catch your connecting flight back home.
