This New Zealand Honeymoon Adventure was planned for a couple from Dallas who were very adventurous and wanted to have an adrenaline-pumping honeymoon vacation.
They began their New Zealand Honeymoon Adventure in Queenstown, New Zealand’s adventure capital. They stayed in a first class hotel in Queenstown with a gorgeous view of Lake Wakatipu and the encircling Southern Alps. They enjoyed plenty of thrilling adventures in Queenstown: jet boating, hiking and kayaking on their own.
Next on their New Zealand Honeymoon Adventure, they drove their rental car through the most scenic part of New Zealand’s alpine scenery, driving over the Haast Pass the rugged West Coast and the glacier region. They stayed in the small, rugged town of Franz Josef Glacier. Here, they took a helicopter up to the glacier and enjoyed a day of hiking on the icy blue terrain. After their adventure, they relaxed in the natural hot pools found in the nearby rainforest.
Continuing their adventure, they drove up the rugged west coast of New Zealand’s South Island, past windswept beaches, stark sea cliffs dropping into the roaring ocean, and hazy fog hanging over the alps. After an overnight near the famous Pancake Rocks, they continued through the Buller River Gorge and past Abel Tasman National Park to Pohara Beach, an amazingly large, shallow beach with sand that seems to stretch for miles.
Then, they drove to the last stop on their New Zealand Honeymoon Adventure, the charming town of Nelson. They took a thrilling horse ride on Wharariki Beach. The next day, they went sea kayaking with playful fur seals in Abel Tasman National Park. They celebrated the end of their honeymoon adventure with a delicious gourmet dinner at the lodge, then the next morning, they completed their journey and headed to the airport.
Welcome to Queenstown! Pick up your rental car at the airport and head into the city. A delight for scenery lovers and adrenaline junkies alike, Queenstown is the outdoor adventure capital of New Zealand, if not the world. There is an endless supply of activities to fully experience the stunning natural landscape and to get your adrenaline flowing. Your room will have a stunning view of Lake Wakatipu.
The morning is at your leisure to hike and kayak on Lake Wakatpiu. Take some time to recover and grab lunch, because this afternoon is a jet boat ride on one of Queenstown’s most exciting and scenic rivers. A jet boat is a lightweight motorboat with very powerful motors that can make quick stops and starts, and can even do famous 360 degree turns that douse the passengers in water.
This day is at leisure. Some additional recommended activities: sky diving, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking, zip-lining, canyon swinging, luging, and skiing in season.
