Vice President and Director of International Operations
After 20+ years in the IT field, I came on board full-time in 2010. I spent a few years prior to that getting to know the people around the world that make this industry tick, so it was an easy transition. Some would even say I married into it. It’s been fun to help the company grow into the big family that it is today.
My Travel History and Style
I’ll literally go anywhere, be it Cook County or the Cook Islands. I’ve been lucky enough to see more of the world than all my ancestors and family combined ever had a chance to experience. I camped outside a bunch as a kid, so I’m over that, but do love spending time outdoors—who doesn’t? We are gearing up for gorilla trekking in Uganda and Rwanda later in the year, so it will be interesting to se how that goes. One thing to note: Once you fly in business class on any of our wonderful airline partners, you’ll never be able to sit in coach again.
Every year or 2, Corinne and I take the same mob of friends somewhere in the world for a couple of weeks. We’ve done Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Thailand, Hong Kong, South Africa, Mozambique, and Dubai in the past few years with them, and in 2017 we did Alaska—which was amazing beyond words. These are my favorite types of trips, as the people you’d like to share adventures with are actually on the trip with you.
The Gold Coast of Australia in February when it’s snowing daily in Chicago, but sunny and warm in the South Pacific. I also love exploring off the beaten tracks, especially in Africa—which has grown as a new market for us over the last few years.
I was a musician in a half-normal band for quite few years, so I still enjoy playing one of my many guitars. I love golf—never get the time to play as much as I’d like, but it’s good to get out once in a while. Our office mascot Echo enjoys a good walk on the paths by Lake Michigan. I enjoy a good walk too, but mine is to a local pub or street festival to hang with friends.
