New Zealand Highlights Package

This is one of our favorite affordable New Zealand vacation packages, which was planned for two friends who had just graduated from college.  They wanted to explore the highlights of New Zealand. We started them in Auckland, the city of sails, for a night just to explore.  They decided to climb the bridge in Auckland and visit Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium to see the penguins.  From there, they drove to the geothermal capital of New Zealand, Rotorua.  On their way, they stopped in Waitomo for some black water rafting with The Legendary Black Water Rafting Co. and they drove to Hobbiton Movie Set in Matamata as one of them was big fan.  They spent two nights of their best of affordable New Zealand packages in Rotorua, so that they could see the geothermal sights.  From the geothermal wonderland of Rotorua, they flew to quaint Christchurch.  Then they drove to the west coast to the glaciers as they wanted to see the famous alpine glaciers.  They did a heli hike with The Helicopter Line on the glacier and then drove through Haast Pass to Queenstown, for their last stop on this best of affordable New Zealand vacation packages.  While in the adventure capital, Queenstown, they did jetboating and bunjy jumping, both of which, of course, originated in New Zealand.  It was a perfect graduation gift.  Airfare is additional for this package, contact us for a competitive airfare quotation from your city.  Suggested Length:  10 Days

The Blue Ice bar, in Franz Josef, gets hopping pretty good at night. It’s a great place to mingle with the locals.  While in Hokitika, shopping for Jade trinkets, stop in and get some ice cream at Sweet Alice’s Fudge Kitchen. Amazing treats.  Glaciers and Rainforests are weird bedfellows – think of an ice cube in your garden in the summer. Or a plant in your freezer. There are three of these unique ecosystems in the world, and two of them are next to each other in the South Island’s west coast – Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier.  The Glaciers were an iconic filming spot for The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. True fans will recognize it immediately.  They are still rebuilding Christchurch after the quakes a few years ago. Don’t let that scare you off. It’s an amazing place with great people, very resilient people.  Rotorua has a unique scent to it – the sulfur springs are prevalent the minute you step off the plane. It really adds to the uniqueness of the area.  If you’re in Rotorua on a Saturday, make sure you hit the market down by the lake. I was able to snag a hand-carved hunk of jade that a Maori elder had carved. It’s also a good place to pickup small gifts for the people back home.  A great place for a burger Queenstown is Fergburger.  If you’re a golfer, Jack’s Point in Queenstown is a must.  If you’re a canoe and adventure lover – check out the Dart River Safari outside Queenstown. It’s a half day kayak, half day 4WD off-roading.   If you’re REALLY adventurous, test your mettle at the Ledge Bungy.
