Australia and New Zealand: We really enjoyed ourselves and are so glad we went!

  • The Daintree Forest and river cruise were really neat. Very pretty scenery, nice tour guide with abundant knowledge, and we even got to see some crocodiles!
  • The diving on the Great Barrier Reef was amazing! We saw so many colorful fish and coral, plus sharks, a stingray and turtles! Loved this part of the trip.
  • The hotel in Cairns was just what we needed after being on the boat for 3-days…very nice!
  • The bike tour was a really great way to get around the city and see a lot of things.
  • The wildlife experience was very cool…not quite sure we knew what were were going to be doing exactly, but we saw a koala, wallabies, kangaroo, wallaroo, wombats and platipi. The guide was really great, too. We ran out of daylight because dinner service ran long and didn’t get to see as many kangaroo as we’d hoped, but it was still a unique experience.
  • Queenstown = beautiful! Loved it there and there is so much to do! The boutique hotel was wonderful, and the staff were so great!
  • The drive to Franz Josef Glacier was beautiful! I think it took us almost 10.5 hours because we stopped and took photos and hiked along the way. We loved having the freedom to do this at our own pace, so great suggestion!
  • The villas we stayed at were very nice and clean…a cute little retreat. The glacier hike was a really great experience…I think that we were hoping to have climbed higher, but overall it was good.
  • The TransAlpine train ride was beautiful. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and the scenery along the way. A nice relaxing way to get to Christchurch!
  • The B&B in Christchurch was lovely. We walked around the botanical gardens and through the center part of the city to see the rebuilding efforts after the 2010 earthquake.
