Australia and Tasmania: Food, Wine, and Wildlife Expedition

Go off the beaten path in Tasmania, Australia. Sample delicious local wine and famously fresh cuisine, take in gorgeous natural surroundings, and enjoy intimate wildlife encounters.

We designed this Australia and Tasmania Food, Wine, and Wildlife Expedition for two couples traveling together. They were seeking an authentic, local Australian experience with fantastic food and wine. We sent them to the island of Tasmania, which offers the perfect blend of hospitality, organic cuisine, beautiful scenery, and wildlife.

Their Australia and Tasmania Food, Wine, and Wildlife Expedition began in the seaside town of Hobart, Tasmania’s capital. They stayed at the charming Henry Jones Art Hotel, Australia’s first dedicated art hotel, which blends Hobart’s classic 19th century architecture with modern Tassie art.

While in Hobart, they enjoyed a private food and wine tour that combined Tasmania’s famous cuisine, wine, and outdoor beauty, traveling along scenic coastal and mountain routes to several local producers. Their tour ended with a scenic drive up Mt. Wellington, where they were treated to fabulous views of Hobart and the ocean.

Next on their Australia and Tasmania Food, Wine, and Wildlife Expedition, they traveled to Saffire Freycinet, a luxury lodge in the famous Freycinet National Park. They enjoyed delicious gourmet meals at their hotel and had plenty of leisure time to walk to Wineglass Bay and explore their beautiful surroundings.

Then, it was on to Launceston, where they stayed at the unique Peppers Seaport Hotel. Built on the site of an old dry dock, this stylish and contemporary Launceston accommodation is designed in the shape of a ship, giving it a distinct nautical ambience. From here, they enjoyed a full-day private tour of Tamar Valley’s best wineries with our mates at Pepper Bush Adventures. After the winery tour, they took a fun 4WD adventure in the forest and enjoyed a delicious, private campfire dinner in the bush, watching the wildlife awaken around them as the sun set.

At last, their Australia and Tasmania Food, Wine, and Wildlife Expedition came to an end and it was time to say goodbye to beautiful Tasmania.
