This itinerary is truly for the weekend warrior who wants adventure, but also wants to relax in a luxurious setting for dinner and drinks. We designed this Australia’s Northern Territory: The Ultimate Adventure vacation for a couple from Phoenix.

They began their Northern Territory adventure at Sails in the Desert, located near Uluru/Ayers Rock in Australia’s Red Centre. This impressive monolith is sacred to the native population. Here, they enjoyed a magnificent dinner under the stars, complete with a stunning view of Uluru and a didgeridoo serenade. The next day, they rose early to watch Uluru change colors in the sunrise, and they also took an exhilarating motorcycle ride through Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

From there, they journeyed to the wetlands for a wonderful 3-night stay at Wildman Wilderness Lodge. Here, they viewed Australian wildlife while whipping by in an airboat. Then they ventured even further into Australia’s Northern Territory, all the way to the Top End. In Darwin, they had a wildlife cruise and an authentic Aboriginal cultural immersion.

Next for their Australia’s Northern Territory: The Ultimate Adventure vacation, they traveled to Port Douglas to see the Great Barrier Reef! They spent a day snorkeling on the reef and also had a full-day tour of Port Douglas’s other top attraction, the ancient Daintree Rainforest. In Port Douglas, they stayed at the incredible Thala Beach Nature Reserve, a deluxe eco-retreat hidden in the Daintree. They loved exploring the forest and secluded beaches of the area.

At last, their Australia’s Northern Territory: The Ultimate Adventure vacation came to an end and it was time to say goodbye to Australia. They began their journey home, recounting their incredible adventures in the Northern Territory!

Day 1
Welcome to Australia’s Northern Territory! Fly into the Red Centre of Australia’s outback. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to Uluru/Ayers Rock in the spiritual heart of Australia. This monolith in the desert is sacred to the Aboriginal population. Over the next 2 days, you’ll have the chance to discover the strong sense of spirituality and culture here. You have the afternoon and evening to relax at the fabulous Sails in the Desert Hotel. Perhaps take a dip in the pool or browse the Mulgara Gallery onsite to see indigenous art.

Tonight, enjoy an intimate dining experience under the outback sky. Tali Wiru, meaning “beautiful dune” in the local Anangu language, brings you the magic of fine dining under a star-filled sky. This open-air restaurant has magnificent views of Uluru and the domes of Kata Tjuta, bringing you a unique ambience found only in the desert at night. Enjoy a didgeridoo performance, 4-course dinner paired with Australian wine, and an indigenous storyteller bringing culture and spirituality to life.

Find yourself in awe as you watch Uluru change colors in the sunrise, visit waterholes, view ancient rock art sites, and learn the legends of the native Anangu people.

Then, explore Australia’s desert outback on a Harley! Hop on your Harley and follow your guide to explore more of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Your guide will reveal the hidden secrets of this diverse environment and its cultural significance as a sacred Aboriginal men’s ceremonial site. Follow your guide through the mighty domes of Walpa Gorge, listen to the wind high above, and feel the spirituality found in this amazing location.
