Day 1: Queenstown Arrival

Day 2: Te Anau Pre-Trek Briefing
Travel by private coach from Queenstown to lakeside Te Anau for your comprehensive pre-departure briefing for the renowned Hollyford Track—one of New Zealand’s Great Walks that takes you through pristine Fiordland wilderness, exploring remote areas inaccessible to day hikers.
Knowledgeable guides will explain everything you need to know about the upcoming multi-day guided walk through Fiordland National Park, including packing essentials and answering any questions. Mix and mingle over dinner with your fellow trekkers before settling in for the evening.

Day 3: Hollyford Track Adventure Begins
After an early breakfast, depart Te Anau by private coach for the majestic Hollyford Valley to begin your 12-mile trek to Ka Tuku Lodge. Follow the swift, clear waters of the Hollyford River beneath the mighty Southern Alps, including Fiordland National Park’s towering peaks.
Retrace the footsteps of original Māori and early pioneer explorers as the track undulates gently through native beech forest and past tumbling waterfalls. Your day concludes at Ka Tuku Lodge with hot showers, impressive three-course cuisine, and post-dinner drinks while reflecting on your first day’s achievement.

Day 4: Lake McKerrow Jet Boat Journey
Begin with breakfast overlooking the mountains before a short walk to glistening Lake Alabaster and the optional crossing of one of Fiordland’s longest swing bridges. Your 9-mile trek continues as main packs are transported ahead, leaving you with just a light day pack.
Board powerful jet boats for an exhilarating scenic ride along the Hollyford River to Lake McKerrow, where glassy waters reflect dramatic mountain peaks. Stop at historic Jamestown to hear tales of this ill-fated early settlement before entering awe-inspiring podocarp forest with thousand-year-old native Rimu, Totara, and Kahikatea giants. As lowland forest transforms into coastal garden, conclude your day at welcoming Waitai Lodge.
