We designed this Luxury Great Migration Tour for a previous client who wanted to celebrate his retirement in a truly unforgettable way. He and his wife were very active world travelers and loved wildlife, so we sent them to Kenya and Tanzania to witness one of nature’s most incredible spectacles: the Great Migration of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes across the plains of the Serengeti.
Their Luxury Great Migration Tour began at Kichwa Tembo Bateleur Camp in Kenya. They arrived in time for a scrumptious lunch, then set off for their first game drive to see the Great Migration up close. After this exhilarating adventure, they returned to their luxurious, open-air tented suite and enjoyed dinner on the outdoor dining deck. The next day, they took a bush walk with their expert guide for an intimate safari experience. They spent the evening on a game drive and enjoyed sundowners in a scenic location in the bush.
Continuing their Luxury Great Migration Tour, they flew to Tanzania and the luxury camp Serengeti Under Canvas. This semi-mobile camp follows the Great Migration in order to get the best wildlife experience at all times. In addition to the migrating animals, they also saw hungry lions and leopards stalking their abundant prey. The next morning, they took a hot air balloon safari for a unique view of the Serengeti coming to life.
Next, they were transferred to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, were their luxury suite was raised on stilts to give them a unique perspective of their lush forest surroundings. They enjoyed another game drive, where they saw Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, before returning to the lodge for a delicious outdoor dinner and a relaxing evening enjoying the view from their private treetop deck.
The last stop on their Luxury Great Migration Tour was Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. During their stay, they were treated to unparalleled views of the famous Ngorongoro Crater and were able to explore the crater on foot and on game drives. They even stopped for a private picnic lunch on the crater floor. In the evenings, they lounged on their private deck and enjoyed the magnificent sunset over the edge of the crater.
At last, this unforgettable adventure came to an end. They were transferred back to Kenya to catch their connecting flight home.

Day 1
Upon arrival at Kenya’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and transferred to the world-renowned Maasai Mara. Your first game drive will take you from the airport to the luxurious Kichwa Tembo Bateleur Camp, your home for the next 2 nights.

Day 2
Begin your day early with a game drive through this prime wilderness reserve. See thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes join abundant elephants, hippos, buffalo, giraffes, lions, and cheetahs. Return to camp in time for lunch and spend the hottest part of the day relaxing in the cool shade. In the late afternoon, you’ll embark on another game drive, stopping along the way at a scenic spot for refreshing sundowners. Other activities on offer include guided walking safaris and night game drives.

Day 3
Enjoy one last game drive and a delicious breakfast before being transferred to the airstrip for your flight transfer to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, where you will be met by your &Beyond driver guide and transferred to the camp. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing, or head out on a late afternoon or night game drive.

Day 4
Spend your entire day at Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. Enjoy game drives and witness the massive concentrations of wildebeest, zebras, and other animals that mark the annual Great Migration—the greatest natural spectacle to be found anywhere in the world. Serengeti Under Canvas moves to follow the migration, ensuring prime viewing of this magnificent spectacle. Keep your eyes open and you’re bound to spot lions stalking the migrating herds and leopards resting in the trees at dusk. You can even take a hot air balloon tour at dawn and watch as the Serengeti awakens below you.

Day 5 – 6
Enjoy an early breakfast before embarking on the drive back to the airstrip, which gives you one last chance to spot some wildlife along the way. Board your scheduled flight to the Manyara airstrip, where you’ll be met and transferred to your next accommodation at Lake Manyara National Park. After settling into your luxurious, locally inspired suite nestled in the treetops, head out on an afternoon game drive. Stop at a scenic spot for sundowners in the bush, then continue your game drive in the dark to see the reserve’s nocturnal inhabitants, returning to camp in time for dinner.

Day 7
Rise early for one last game drive and a delicious breakfast before making your way back to the airstrip for your flight and road transfer to Ngorongoro Crater Lodge where, after settling in, you can begin exploring this famous crater.

Spend your day exploring your unique surroundings. Your luxurious accommodations are situated on the edge of the crater itself, giving you unparalleled views of this stunning African landmark from the moment you rise in the morning. During your game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, enjoy a tasty hot lunch served in breathtaking surroundings at a private picnic spot on the crater floor. Return to the lodge in the evening and enjoy a sundowner cocktail while watching a truly magnificent sunset over the crater rim.
