Day 1
Welcome to Auckland!  Pick up your rental car and make your way to your wonderful accommodations at the Adina Apartment Hotel Auckland.  Relax and spend this evening enjoying the sights from your luxurious guest apartment.

Day 2
After breakfast, you’ll drive to Waitomo where adventure awaits you at Lost World.  This 4-hour adventure includes a spectacular 100m abseil (rappel) and dry caving.  Abseil slowly alongside your guide and instructor providing you with information, reassurance and a backup safety tether.  Imagine free-hanging in this massive void, bouncing a bit and turning because of the sheer length of the rope.  Look around into upper levels of the cave and giant spagatites.  Weird plants struggle to cling to the sheer walls and all the while the roar of the Mangapu river echoes up from caverns far below.  Once down, catch your breath, because this is just the beginning- there’s a lot more to do and see, as you explore these massive vaults.  From glowworms to gigantic flowstone formations, you’re in for a real adventure.

Day 3
Today your New Zealand Adventure Vacation continues with a full day tour of Rotorua & surrounds.  After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and begin your tour of Rotorua.   This is the perfect tour for any adventurer when in Rotorua – this tour includes 2-3 hours of superb Mountain biking, extreme Kaituna Waterfall Rafting, a delicious lunch in our local cafe and a beautiful Kayak on Lake Rotoiti to thermal hot pools only accessible by boat.

Day 4
This morning your road trip continues, as you make your way to Tongariro.  Spend two wonderful nights at Chateau Tongariro Hotel.  Located in Whakapapa Village – in the heart of Tongariro National Park, the Chateau Tongariro Hotel is surrounded by a stunning natural playground bursting with diverse landscapes for visitors to the Tongariro National Park to discover.

Day 5
Today you have the opportunity to experience the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.  Immerse yourself on this full day tour with your experienced and friendly guide and beautiful scenery.  The route from Mangatepopo to Ketetahi is about 19 km, a reasonably good level of fitness is required.  Walking time is about 7 hours including stops.  No alpine experienced required.

  • Thermal longs and walking trousers (no jeans!) and/or waterproof over-trousers
  • 2 warm top layers (thermal, wool, fleece, polyprop, soft shells are all good fabric options)

Day 6
After a good night’s sleep, it’s time to move onward to Christchurch.  Drop off your rental car at the airport, where you’ll catch your transfer flight to Christchurch.  Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your accommodations at Novotel Christchurch.  Relax and get settled in your luxurious room.

Day 7
After breakfast, you’ll be picked up and transferred to the Christchurch Railway Station.  Here you’ll board the Tranz Alpine, one of the world’s most famous train journeys, between Christchurch and Greymouth.  Cross the fertile farmlands of the Canterbury Plains, and enjoy thrilling vistas over deep gorges as you travel alongside the ice-fed Waimakariri River.  Traverse the mighty Southern Alps, where spectacular views of the chiseled alpine landscape will take your breath away at every turn.  Descend through thick stands of native beech forest to your destination, Greymouth – a great base for exploring this unspoiled region with its mighty glaciers, wild rivers, and famous Punakaiki pancake rocks.  After you’ve had some time to explore Greymouth, it’s time to pick up your rental car and make your way to your luxurious accommodations at Scenic Hotel Franz Josef Glacier.

Day 8
Today your New Zealand Adventure Vacation continues with an exciting opportunity, to heli hike Franz Josef Glacier.  Your professional guide will lead you into the most spectacular icefall terrain, usually only seen by experienced mountaineers.  With an excellent safety record, rigid assessments, and using exclusive quality equipment, your safety, and enjoyment is assured.

  • Scenic helicopter flight to Franz Josef icefall

Day 10
Routeburn Track Guided Walk – Day One
The Routeburn Track Guided Walk is a 3 day / 2 night Queenstown to Queenstown all-inclusive guided walk exploring New Zealand’s Southern Alps. The package includes all transport, accommodation, meals, snacks, backpacks and rain jackets. Accommodation is in our comfortable lodges and you will be led by our expert guides.

What to Bring:

Day 11
Routeburn Track Guided Walk – Day Two
Since the 1880’s the Routeburn Track has proved to be one of the most accessible and popular journeys into New Zealand’s forests and mountains.
The Routeburn Track passes through two national parks, Fiordland and Mount Aspiring, and is part of Te Wahipounamu, South West New Zealand World Heritage Area. The area is a haven for native birdlife: the Robin; Fantail; Parakeet; Bellbird; Yellowhead and watch out for the resident Kea at Routeburn Falls! The variety of landscapes will astound you: mountainous peaks; sheer rock faces; alpine basins; pristine lakes; cascading waterfalls; luxuriant forest; turquoise rivers and million dollar views around every corner.

Day 12
Routeburn Track Guided Walk – Day Three
Today marks the end of your Routeburn Track adventures, bringing you back to Queenstown.  Spend the next 4 days enjoying Queenstown to the fullest.

Day 14
This morning, experience the stunning surrounds of the Queenstown Trails & Wakatipu Basin on a full-day supported biking adventure.  Starting at 9 am, you’ll be picked up from your Queenstown accommodation and delivered to Queenstown Bay.  Here you’ll be given thorough directions, a map and trail tips before setting off on your ride.  Follow the shore of Lake Wakatipu to the Frankton Marina.  Stop and enjoy a morning tea at the historic Boatshed Cafe before being driven to the heart of the Wakatipu Basin for more scenic riding.  Enjoy a picnic lunch in historic Arrowtown, then set off biking along the beautifu Larrow & Kawarau Rivers to the Historic Kawarau Suspension Bridge.  Finish with a short ride through Gibbston Valley and enjoy a relaxing wine tasting and cheesery visit.  Afterward, you can sit back and relax as you’ll be driven back to your Queenstown accommodation.

Day 15
Today brings you more adrenaline pumping adventure!  We love adventure threesomes and this combo embodies the Queenstown slogan ‘Adventure Capital of the World’!  You will be overwhelmed with adrenaline as you step out of a plane thousands of feet above the ground. Free-fall at 200km/h towards the earth before your parachute opens and you glide under the canopy with a grin from ear to ear.  Take the historical journey along the Skippers Canyon road (an adventure in itself) to join a white-water rafting trip through the Shotover River Canyon. Add on a speedy jet boat tour that whips past the rock walls and you’ve got yourself a day of action packed adventure.
