Insider's Tip

The Catlins are one of the least touristed and most beautiful parts of New Zealand. Be sure to allow ample time for drives in this area, where there is no major highway and you'll want to make lots of scenic stops. Be sure to keep the gas tank at least half full at all times and a GPS unit is recommended.
