Hidden in a laneway in Sydney's CBD is the local gem,  The Grasshopper.  Stop in for custom made drinks served in mason jars and some truly delicous food.  Not easy to find, but well worth the adventure! - Candice Heckel

16 Days Australian Epicurean Journey

This trip was designed for a couple, he is a chef and she is an accountant. This was their post tax day journey to Australia. He wanted to taste all of the local cuisine; she needed a place to unwind and relax. They started with a few days on luxurious Lizard Island at the Great Barrier Reef where they completely relaxed. Then they started on their chef-led journey complete with private wine and food tours. They ended their food and wine journey at Penfolds where they “made their own blend”. To round out their trip, they really wanted to hit the highlights of Australia, which included a private yacht cruise on Sydney harbor, behind the scenes tour of Sydney Fish Market (largest in the Southern Hemisphere), and a Sydney Opera House performance with dinner at astounding Aria. Home of a staggering number of excellent and varied restaurants, we’ll arrange dinner reservations for you each night that you’d like them. Sydney is iconic in every way -- the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, the zoos and lively neighborhoods, Darling Harbour and its array of quirky dining establishments -- all of it is delightful and worth thorough exploration. Your luxury hotel (with a view of Darling Harbour) is perfectly situated to walk to all of these sights and restaurants, for exploring the historic Rocks district, and also for ferries to neighboring beaches to explore restaurants out of the main downtown area such as Iceberg’s at Bondi Beach or Doyle’s for humble fish and chips in Watson’s Bay.

Australian beers, wines, and soft drinks plus dessert are all included in today’s escapade. You’ll even have time for a dip in the water (weather permitting) between all the scenic photo opportunities and fine dining. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Or you may prefer to do some cheese-tasting, chocolate shop visiting, or gum tree relaxing.
