Description: Begin in the urban center of Sydney before setting off on an outback safari, complete with helicopter rides, 4WD tours and other adventures through parts of Australia that most visitors never see.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival transfer from Sydney International airport to hotel. Sydney combines well known lands marks with sophisticated style and heritage charm. Located within the heritage listed 1851 Treasury Building, your hotel captures historical charm with sophisticated elegance and offers panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Opera House.

Day 2

Suggested optional touring: private guide city highlights, Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Bridge climb, shopping, sailing on the harbour, seaplane flight to lunch, kayak and brunch adventure, Dinner and Performance, Opera in the Vineyards (seasonal), historical guided walking tour.

Day 3

Deep Well Station – Alice Springs: Your hosts William and Mary Hayes were one of the pioneer families of the Red Centre arriving in 1884 with horse and bullock teams. This 450,000-acre property boasts weathered rocky outcrops; red ochre sand hills an abundance of wildlife and a chance to see previously unexplored country.

Days 4 & 5

Optional tours: Day trip to Uluru (Ayers Rock) by helicopter or plane, Kings Canyon, partake in a cattle muster (seasonal), visit local Aboriginal communities, Rainbow Valley, Alice Springs, private 4wd tours, hiking.

Day 6

Davidson's Arnhemland Safari is an exclusive, remote and comfortable safari camp in the Top End, nestled in a landscape of rugged ranges fringed by lily-covered billabongs. The Aboriginal rock art is over 50,000 years old. Your hosts reveal to you the legacy of Aboriginal Dreamtime Mythology. This is one of the most powerful cultural sites in Australia.

Days 7 & 8

Touring Options: Fishing for Barramundi in the billabongs; swim in crystal clear rock pools; 4WD wildlife viewing; Cruising waterways; Sunset billabong cruise complete with evening drinks and canapés; guided hikes and walks; Aboriginal Bush tucker walks, Aboriginal rock. The choice is yours to do as little or as much as you wish.

Day 9

Arrive into Darwin early afternoon where the evening is at leisure. A chance to explore the city and to witness an incredible sunset.

Day 10

Flights today take you to Queensland and on to luxurious Lizard Island one of the very few island resorts located right on the Great Barrier Reef. This is one of our favorite island resorts offering seclusion, tranquility, superb diving and innovative cuisine. A chance to rejuvenate your body, mind and soul!

Day 11 & 12

Complimentary Touring: Catamarans, paddle skis, sailboards, glass bottom boat trips, motorized dinghies, snorkeling equipment, picnic hampers on deserted beaches, hiking.

Optional Touring: diving and snorkeling trips to inner and out reefs, night diving, Private game fishing, Pavilion Spa Treatments, research station tours.

Day 13

Return flight to Cairns completes your adventure through Australia less traveled.
