Description: Situated in the
heart of World Heritage Rainforest, your luxury lodge will provide
the perfect escape to discover the birdlife that inhabits the Wet
Tropics region of Far North Queensland.
Itinerary
Day 1
You will be transferred by private chauffeured
vehicle from Cairns to your lodge in World Heritage Rainforest.
After settling into your luxury chalet, your experience begins
with a briefing of what species you're likely to see over the
coming days. The afternoon is at your leisure to indulge in the
resort’s facilities.
The staff is only too happy to share their intimate knowledge
of the local ecology with you. Dinner is included this evening.
Day
2
Awake early for a guided walk in search
of the birdlife that inhabits the area before returning to a
hearty breakfast. Explore
the habitats of the rainforest, river, open eucalypt woodland and
the nearby cane fields. The afternoon includes a guided tour of
Lowland Coastal areas, identifying the elusive raptors and coastal
birds. Your guide has over 30 years experience in observing birds
in all Australian states. Dinner is included this evening.
Day 3
Today you will have the chance to explore Mt Lewis, a World
Heritage region and the real Australian outback of the Mitchell
River, sighting rare fauna whom inhabit the area. Your guide has
with vast local knowledge and has a strong passion for conservation,
leaving you with a deep appreciation for this World Heritage region.
A sumptuous 4 course dinner is included at your hotel this evening.
Day
4
This morning we take to the water on a morning river cruise where
we will have the chance to see up to fifty different bird species,
as well as reptiles and the occasional mammal.
Day 5
After breakfast, your private chauffeured car transfers
you back to Cairns for your ongoing journey.
