Explore the rugged beauty of the Southern Alps, hike glaciers, overnight cruise in the Fiords and more… Itinerary Day 1 Depart Los Angeles non-stop for Auckland, New Zealand. Day 2 Day ‘lost’ crossing international dateline. This will be gained upon return. Day 3 Arrive into Auckland, connecting flight to Christchurch. Meet and Greet and transfer to your hotel. Day is at leisure to explore the city from your centrally located hotel. Day 4 Collect you rental car and drive to Port Hills. Your adventure today begins with a spectacular gondola ride up the Mountain. Here you are briefed before Mountain Biking all he way back down. Be sure to take your camera! Day 5 Make your way west to the South Alps. Discover wild nature in the New Zealand Mountains and experience life on a 3,000 hectare nature reserve/high country merino sheep station. Partake in the lodges activities which include hikes, canoeing, wildlife spotting and more. Day 6 Full Day private guided hike has been arranged for you today in Arthur’s Pass. Day 7 Continue onto the rugged west coast and to glacier country. Afternoon Helihike onto Fox Glacier will be a memorable experience and offers wonderful photographic opportunities. Each departure is a true voyage of exploration; there are so many changing features that the guides always find something new. Day 8 Self drive down to Queenstown today. I recommend a walk around Lake Matheson. Optional touring suggestion: hiking, biking in Wanaka. Day 9 Day is at leisure. Suggested touring: Heli hike Milford Sound; Helihike the Remarkables; Helihike Skippers Canyon; Heli Mountain Biking; Cecil Peak Heli Hike. For those with more time, we can arrange a 3-7 day trek. Day 10 Today you will head to Doubtful Sound for an overnight cruise. Fur seals and bottlenose dolphins are often seen and at times, rare penguins can be observed. There is also time for you to kayak around the shoreline or go exploring in the tender craft with our nature guide. Overnight is on the vessel. Day 11 The morning will offer an opportunity to kayak and explore before returning to the mainland. Return to Queenstown at your leisure this afternoon. Suggested Touring: Te Anau Glow worm caves; wineries of central Otago, Jet boating Experience, hang gliding; the triple challenge; white water rafting Day 12 Return your car to the airport and connect with onward flight home. Arrive into Los Angeles the same day with plenty of time for connection flights to other cities. |
